Covered Diagnostics

What the Fund Covers

We fund the diagnostic tests that detect blood clots — the same tests that are often denied or delayed for uninsured patients.

D-Dimer Blood Test

Up to $150

Covers the cost of a D-dimer blood test to screen for blood clot risk — the first critical diagnostic step.

Diagnostic Ultrasound

Up to $400

Funds a venous duplex ultrasound to detect deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the legs or arms.

CT Scan / CTA

Up to $1,500

Covers a CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA) to diagnose pulmonary embolism (PE) — a life-threatening emergency.

MRI / Full Workup

Up to $2,000

Supports an MRI or comprehensive diagnostic workup for complex or recurring clot presentations.

Who Qualifies

Eligibility Requirements

The Diagnostic Scholarship Fund is designed for patients who are most at risk and least able to access care. If you meet the criteria below, we encourage you to apply.

Uninsured or underinsured at the time of application
Experiencing symptoms consistent with DVT or PE (or referred by a provider)
Unable to afford the out-of-pocket cost of diagnostic testing
U.S. resident (any state)
Not currently enrolled in a clinical trial covering these costs

Who We Prioritize

While all eligible applicants are considered, the fund prioritizes:

Black women and women of color (3–4× higher mortality risk)
Pregnant or postpartum patients
Patients with a prior history of blood clots
Patients whose symptoms have been dismissed or ignored
Patients in medically underserved communities
